Even years after its launch, the Timemaster still hasn’t quenched its thirst for adventure. After excursions to the eternal ice of the Arctic and into the depths of the ocean, this sporty watch from Chronoswiss will embark on a very special journey this year. On the wrist of solo sailor Norbert Sedlacek, this robust timepiece will be called upon to prove its mettle in the “Vendée Globe,” the world’s toughest regatta.

After departing from Les Sables d´Olonne on the French Atlantic coast on the 9th of November, the participants will – completely alone aboard their boats – sail all the way around the world without touching land – a maritime odyssey of about 27,000 nautical miles.

First of all, the race will lead through the Biscaya, North and South Atlantic up to about 500 to 1000 nautical miles West of the Cape of Good Hope. Then the skippers will have to sail the windy seas around the Antarctic until they will have passed the dreaded Cape Horn. Finally they will have to cross the whole Atlantic from South to North again and after more or less three months at sea come back to shore at Les Sables. Depending on Neptun´s and Fortuna´s moods, the journey will take between 100 and 150 days.
